About Me

Hi, my name is Jennifer Otitigbe and this is my blog.

I write about my personal experiences as a practitioner of user experience across multiple industries and domains. While I am researcher at heart, I personally derive more satisfaction when my research is accompanied by involvement in the implementation of a solution. My big thing is “connecting the dots”. My work across so many different areas, coupled with my  broad “fields of fascination”,  help me to  see some unique intersections and influences for the design of new things.

I came to user experience after a progression of experiences from engineering (design and operations), technology marketing and human-centered design. As a UX practitioner, I specialize in facilitating design teams and designing complex systems by applying best-practices in usability, psychology, human-factors and basic design principles.  I have worked professionally in telecommunications, automotive, financial services, the cultural sector, education and healthcare. In my varied career, I have worked across all sectors; public, private and non-profit. I have conducted UX research / design for software, web, mobile, services and  products (both consumer and industrial). My working / consulting engagements have brought me to Hong Kong, Korea, Japan and Canada. I received a B.S in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute along with a M.S. in Engineering from Stanford University and a certificate in Project Management from Stevens Institute of Technology.
